A CMS, or Content Management System, is basically a software application or set of similar programs that can be used to easily create, edit and delete digital content.

CMS's allow users to rapidly update content such as text, images and fuctional elements like buttons and sections, without the need to write code or have any coding or development experience. As such, CMS can save considerable time and money in keeping websites up to date without the need for a developer.

The best known CMS in the world is WordPress, which has around a 60% market share. Other common CMS applications include Joomla, Drupal Magento, Squarespace and Wix.
